December Wedding

My brother in law Luke got married this month.  Caleb was not in the wedding but got to wear a tuxedo with a silver tie and vest.  After getting dressed he started strutting around his room ( :  This was the first time they got to meet Uncle James and Aunt Sarah.    They had a great time together.  My highlight was probably when their cousin Payton told his Dad during the reception that he was going to marry Jazmyne.  Payton then went over to JJ and told her he was going to marry her.   She immediately came to me and told me.  I asked her what she said.  She raised her hands above her head questioningly and said "I told him I didn't know about that."  I told her to tell him she couldn't marry him because their cousins.  To which the adult response around me was, "Well, their not blood related."  Thanks a lot guys!

Thanksgiving & the rest of November Highlights

Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this time of year!  The kids had fun playing in the leaves; Sophie... ...not so much.  JJ also decided she wanted her hair cut.  This was a big step for her.  She had never had her hair cut; her birth mom insisted it stay long like hers.  So, I put her off for a few weeks to make sure this is what she really wanted to do.  She was persistent. ( :  She even grabbed a piece of computer paper and drew me a picture of what she wanted it to look like.  How cute!  Finally the big day came, the boys were gone, and we chopped it ( :  Over course I saved a lock for her life story book.  Fortunately, she loves it.

This month the kids also had a new niece born: Miss Morgan Olivia.  Caleb could care less ( :  JJ is fasinated with her.  We got to visit her when she was one day old and JJ didn't want to leave her side.  Since then she has asked me all kinds of questions about how to take care of babies.  Putting her dolls in her shirt, taking them to the doctor for shots, nursing them (which I have asked her not to, lol).  She even started crying one day because she didn't get to hold the baby yet.  I explained that Morgan was still very little and I'm sure she'd get to hold her sometime.

Right before Thanksgiving the kids came down with their first cold/flu.  Sunday they both had fevers over 102 degrees F.  As you can tell Caleb looks very sick, LOL.  We moved the extra bunk mattress into the living room.   Sophie was sure we did it for her.  And watched lots of Disney movies!  Then we got snow!!!  Were we going to make it to Medford for Thanksgiving???

We did make it to Medford.  The kids fevers broke and the snow melted.  I was a bit nervous about this trip.  In all honesty, we could have been stopping for bathroom breaks every 20 minutes.  Yikes!  But I was pleasantly suprised to find out our kids are great travelers!  We didn't have to take one extra restroom stop and had no accidents.  On the way down we stopped at Wildlife Safari.  The kids loved it.  The Ostrich kept pecking on Caleb's window ( :  A llama almost spit on me.  And the kids got to stretch their legs on the playground.  We had fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house being attacked by their new Daschund puppies, Zoey & Murphy.  Uncle Ben and Jessie joined us for Thanksgiving dinner, which included yams with marshmallows because JJ said that's what she eats on Thanksgiving.

No black Friday shopping for me this year, I had no partner.  Instead later that day Grandma took the kids to a Kids Discovery play place where both kids LOVED playing restuarant and going to the "grocery store".  They even had a scanner for the bar codes.  When we left Saturday, JJ started crying saying she was going to miss Grandma and Grandpa.   So sweet!
