May's Blessings

       To be honest, the beginning of May was hard, lots of emotions surfacing. I thought of the our sweet twinnies often.  They had come into our lives on my birthday last year.  How were they doing?  I wonder if we will get to have a play date at the park with them this summer? And many fond memories.

      Then the thought of Mother's Day... will my daughter wish me a Happy Mother's Day?  How much emotional progress have we made?  But the Lord knows our thoughts doesn't He.  My family and friends spoiled me for my Birthday.  My daughter made me THREE cards this year... ...all it took was a little hair dye. Let me explain ( :  In the past she has commented to me that she wants to dye her hair dark like mine.  So for Mother's Day Jonathan sent me to the salon and I had blonde highlights put in mine.  Then I swung by and picked my girl up for half price fraps and Starbucks!  We sat outside in the sunshine sipping our drinks and she just started talking... ..and asking questions, deep ones.  Much more depth to our conversation than the usual surface level.  How encouraging!  Warms this mommas heart.  Lesson: Keep blonde hair dye around. ( :

      We also finished up school this month.  Guess who is reading?!  I LOVE that as we drive around and go through the grocery store that my kids are reading everything around them... ...well, most of the time! ( ;

       CC is the most layed back baby.  But he is definately fussing here.  "Hey, guys, come over here and play with me!"
      Look who found the "BIG boy toys".  Just a little enthusiasctic here.  This is the same excitment he has in the bath. ( :
       Dad is teaching the kids to climb trees.  I agree that this is an important childhood lesson, but seriously, why does somebody have to teach them???  Isn't this something kids should just naturally do?  They don't spend that much time in front of the TV.  Oh, well, if someone has to teach them, Dad is a good candidate.
       I also made a Summer Fun Jar, filled with many fun kid ideas from Pinterest... ...I may need a Pintervention. ( :  Though the sad thing is most of the activities can be done inside because, after all, we do live in Washington.  We're having fun though.  Here we have messless finger painting.

 Glow sticks/bracelets in the tub... ...with the lights out!

       Ended the month with a fun night out with long time girlfriends for my Birthday.  You girls are the BEST!  Someone should send me the mustache pic to post one here ( } :
